Back to School - Sales & Marketing 101

Getting your sales solely by word of mouth is limiting the cap on your business’s potential. Sit in class with Luke Vandermillen Jr. and Ashley Passow as they teach you how to effectively sell and market your business to potential customers.

This course will begin by you learning how to engage new prospects and market beyond your current contacts through social media and email marketing. Once you have them in your grasp, you have to sell them on you. This is where great sales tactics come into play. If you intend to scale your business, then this is the class you don’t want to miss. Get advice from two sales and marketing professionals that perform these tasks day in and day out and benefit from their years of experience.

Summary:

Ashley Passow goes through the first half of this session by discussing different marketing strategies to enhance your online presence. She first explains the importance of creating an ideal persona to market to. Once they have that ideal prospect in mind, they can start creating emails and social media posts tailored to that specific prospect. In these emails and social posts, the first few should be focused on educational content rather than sales. This is what we like to call “seasoning.” After sending these emails for about a month, you can start to mix in sales emails with a clear call to action to either book a meeting or sign up for your advising services.

Moving on to increasing your online presence, it is important to keep your LinkedIn profile up to date. This includes but is not limited to updating your headshot, about section, description of your current position, and your headline that appears at the top of your profile. These are all action items that you can take to look more appealing to prospective clients. While you are on LinkedIn, you can also find new prospects by using the search feature to find specific titles in companies.

Lastly, in marketing it is important to have a good website that has clear calls to action to maximize conversion rates. Ashley shows the different ways that we have changed our website to make it more user friendly and accessible.

In the second half of this presentation, Luke Vandermillen Jr. took the time to go over a few of the RPAG tools that can help members convert prospects into clients. He started off by researching advisors that have had exponential growth over the past few years and interviewed each one to see what they have done to be more successful using RPAG’s technology.

One great thing that Luke heard from these interviews is that in meetings, it’s a good idea to first go over what exactly an advisor is supposed to do and what it looks like to have a good advisor. What makes our members different from most advisors is that they can offer multiple services using our robust technology systems and services. We help you provide fee benchmarking, ERISA compliance, fiduciary education, financial wellness resources and more. Interested in learning more about the RPAG systems?
